A Strange Romance: My Archrival Husband, Bring It On!

Recently, Xiao Ruoshui, a little water fairy and the Matchmaker's assistant, has barely finished tying one red thread before Lord Demon King Sheng Li, with nothing better to do, cuts it.

The reason is simple: just as his name suggests, Lord Sheng Li delights in mischief and loves to see lovers parted by death or distance. He has no heart or feelings himself, living alone and bereft, yet he can't stand seeing other people happy together and deeply in love. So, figuring that every couple he can break up is one more, he waves his specially made giant scissors and snips countless fated bonds in an instant.

Watching all the men and women of the mortal world turn into lonely old bachelors and spinsters, Xiao Ruoshui gets angry. She storms into the Demon Palace and gives the Demon King a sound beating.

If you can't help raise humanity's happiness index, why should anyone offer you incense money?

The beating leaves the red threads Lord Demon King had cut on his table twisted into tangled knots.

This time, Heaven, the Demon Realm, and the Underworld have all had enough. The soul reapers can't reap souls, and those who arrange marriages can't get anyone wed. So the Jade Emperor, the Demon Lord, and King Yama fly into a rage, force the two troublemakers to drink Granny Meng's soup, and banish them to the mortal world.

And so begins their extraordinary, six-lifetime love story, full of grudges and payback.
