I'm Infected by a Parasite, and All I Want Is to Conquer the Zerg Queen

Cultivators seek the path to immortality, exploring the secrets of the Five Elements, yin and yang, and nature itself.

They hope to understand the principles behind the transformations of heaven and earth, and gain the power to fly, burrow underground, move mountains, and fill seas.

In truth, this is merely the beautiful image people have of cultivation.

Real cultivators are a species parasitized by immortal spirit insects.

Once the larvae inside them have absorbed enough nutrients to reach a certain stage, they spin cocoons for themselves. This is the Core Formation stage.

The adults that emerge from their cocoons are said to have reached the Nascent Soul stage.

After a long period of growth and cultivation, the adults gain the ability to travel to their own race's homeland. This is grandly called ascending to the Upper Realm!
