Great Ming: Good Grandson, Why Don’t You Take the Throne?

In the 25th year of Hongwu, Zhu Biao died of illness. Just as Zhu Yuanzhang was fretting over the succession, Crown Prince Zhu Xiongying, who should have been dead for many years, suddenly appeared at the palace gates. Zhu Yuanzhang was astonished and delighted, and immediately summoned him.

But Zhu Xiongying's next words made his expression change dramatically:

"Grandfather, your Eight-Legged Essay examination system will bring calamity for generations to come."

"Grandfather, your maritime bans have shut the country off from the world."

Zhu Yuanzhang was about to fly into a rage, but Zhu Xiongying's next words left him even more dumbstruck!

"By the way, this gunpowder I have here is called nitroglycerin! Make firearms with it, and we can sweep across the Oirats and crush Japan!"

"By the way, beyond the Eastern Sea lies a continent called the Americas! It has countless acres of fertile farmland, with corn and sweet potatoes. If we conquer it, the people of Great Ming will never have to worry about famine again!"

Zhu Xiongying's words filled Zhu Yuanzhang with longing, and the emperor was overjoyed!

"My excellent grandson, you can be the emperor!"

From then on, Great Ming entered the Age of Discovery a hundred years early and forged a mighty industrial empire!
