Showbiz: Starting with the Hunger Challenge

Zhang Yang transmigrated to a parallel world.

He joined a variety show called the Hunger Challenge.

Unfortunately, the money he earned over the first five days wasn't even enough to buy a boxed meal. He was so hungry that he couldn't bring himself to spend money on instant noodles.

With only the final two days left, Zhang Yang was about to have worked for nothing. At last, he borrowed a guitar and sang "South of the Mountain" on the street.

South of the mountain, autumn sorrow to the north.

A heap of grain lies south of the mountain.

The south wind whispers, the northern sea lies beyond the north.

A gravestone stands by the northern sea.

With just this one song, Zhang Yang received a thousandfold reward and became rich overnight. The director nearly fell to his knees, and from then on Zhang Yang's success was unstoppable.

Yang Dami: Thank you. Because of you, every season is warm.

Reba: You look so good when you write songs, like flowers in spring.

Yifei: Brother! Please, write one for me too. I used to be in a girl group, after all.

Eason: Hong Kong pop music will be counting on you from now on.

Wang Feng: Rock music will be counting on you from now on.

Zhang the God of Songs: The Chinese music scene will be counting on you from now on.
