Farewell My Concubine Made My Bad-Movie-King Persona Crumble

Su Ming transmigrates into the body of a famous director known as the King of Adult Films.

He's been called a menace to Chinese-language cinema.

A double disgrace to the opera and theater worlds...

But just after he wins the Golden Broom Award for Lifetime Achievement as a Director,

Su Ming suddenly announces that he plans to make an art film for Peking Opera.

The internet erupts in insults.

His fellow industry professionals are even afraid to work with him.

Then Farewell My Concubine hits theaters.

"A courtesan has no loyalty, an actor no honor."

"I was born a lovely maiden, not a strapping young man."

The King of Chu even knelt and begged for mercy. How could Peking Opera possibly survive?

No matter how Yuji is played, she dies in the end.
