My Parents Gave Me a Nightmare of a Life

A televised search for birth relatives revealed Qi Liuyue's tragic childhood.

She was born into this miserable family because of immoral and illegal actions.

Little Liuyue had a childhood unlike anyone else's.

Misery, fear, and helplessness were always at her side.

Without a mother's love to protect her, all she had was her father's repeated beatings.

Qi Liuyue: "You have to leave the mountains and start a new life!"

"Did I do something wrong? Was it my fault? Why are you treating me like this?"

"I'm your child, your very own child!"

"No! I want to be loved, even if it's just a kind lie!"

"You'll regret this for the rest of your lives! Every one of you!"

The flowers that bloom in June have lives that are always so brief.

The cry of a wild goose is so piercing.

Is their flight south an ending, or a new beginning?

Is her journey west a passage to hell or to heaven?
