A Disastrous Start! Too Many of My Ministers Are Treacherous

Traditional court intrigue + no System

Ji Yi transmigrates.

He transmigrates to the world of Jiuzhou, where three kingdoms stand against one another, and becomes the emperor of Great Xia.

But when Ji Yi sees the former court and imperial harem, he feels his whole world falling apart.

The Empress Dowager Cixi rules from behind the curtain in the Eastern Palace, while Wei Zhongxian, head of the Directorate of Ceremonial, holds the imperial seal. There are also the likes of Li Lianying and Zhao Gao, and Yan Song serves as Grand Secretary, colluding with He Shen, Qin Hui, and the rest.

Even worse, within the court, Prince of Qin Ji Shimin and Prince of Jiaodong Ji Che are fighting over the position of Crown Prince, while Prince of Yan Ji Di commands his own army and defies the throne.

Most outrageous of all, from the start, his predecessor failed to poison Cixi! How is he supposed to play this game?

Ji Yi thinks it wouldn't be surprising if he suddenly dropped dead at any moment.

But after thinking it over, he realizes that there's still Empress Dowager Ma Xiuying of the Western Palace, Empress Yin Lihua, chief eunuch Gao Lishi, and Liu Bowen, the second-ranking Grand Secretary...

Though his position is weak, he may still be able to make a play for power.

Tyrant, despot, virtuous ruler, enlightened monarch: these have never been fixed labels for Ji Yi.
