The fate of writing this book came from the early autumn of 2012. I was shocked to learn that a good friend passed away suddenly, and I wanted to use this work to remember my old friend and my youthful years.
"No Hope in This Life" is the name of a rock band. Its prototype once existed in Handan's underground rock scene, and the seemingly absurd and unimaginative stories and characters outlined in the book all have their real prototypes. The prototype of the male protagonist Ge Yu in the book is actually integrated into the youth stories of six people, including the old friend who passed away in a hurry during his golden years.
I would like to dedicate this book to Handan. This ancient city is always full of endless charm and mystery. Almost the entire city of Handan has its shadow recorded in this book. I want to keep its past appearance in the text forever. There are also those relatives and friends who once appeared in my life. Maybe some of them can no longer be seen, or cannot speak a word, or even some are no longer in this world, but I will keep you in this work.
