Six CBA Championships, and I'm Back in the NBA

Lakers vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka and head coach Vogel sat on either side of Ku Tian, both wearing masks and smiling.

"Now that you're back in the NBA, what are your goals? To score one point?"

Ku Tian wasn't offended. He calmly replied, "A championship. I came to the NBA for that damn championship!"

"The film industry has long called you 'Asia's second Akira Kurosawa' and 'China's number one director.' What do you think of that?"

"I'm Ku Tian. I'm my own person, not a second Akira Kurosawa. In my heart, Mr. Zhang Yimou has always been China's number one director. Though I'm pretty great too. Thank you."

"You've said before that Kobe and Garnett are your idols, and that they're why you were willing to join the Lakers. What do you think the Lakers' goal should be this year?"

At last, a reporter asked him about basketball, and Ku Tian's expression softened a little.

Without hesitation, he said, "The championship, ladies and gentlemen. If the Lakers don't win the championship this year, we've failed!"
