You Are the Exception for Me

I was thirteen that year when I fell for a boy.

Years later, one day, I took out my ninth-grade textbooks to help my younger brother preview his lessons.

He pointed to your name and asked, "Who is he?" I answered, "The man I couldn't marry when I was eighteen."

My brother said regretfully, "What a shame."

You walked in, flicked him on the forehead, and said, "Your sister didn't marry me until she was twenty-two. What's there to be sorry about?"
