Silent Cold Moon

The moon is silent, and fate plays cruel tricks.

Among the noble young ladies, Xu Wanyue is no beauty. Her looks, talents, and temperament are nothing to write home about. All her life, she asks only for an ordinary existence and hopes not to take a wrong step.

Whether that is good fortune or misfortune, who can say? Heaven let her be born into a distinguished family, but gave her nothing to match her station. She longs to spend her life with Zhong Han, but though she is destined for wealth, a twist of fate makes her the emperor's concubine. She seeks a quiet life and peace, yet rises step by step until she takes the throne of empress.

Now her hair is beginning to turn white, and she holds a position so exalted that no one dares look her in the eye. By chance, she hears people gossiping that the empress dowager of today is truly a legend. She is dazed for a moment. Reflecting in the night, she looks back and realizes that she, once an inconspicuous, ordinary woman, has traveled such a winding, arduous road.

Everyone says I was born lucky, but who knows that everything I ever wished for went unfulfilled? I stumbled through half my life, and looking back, the flowers in the courtyard have fallen and the people I once knew are gone. I merely ** the longest road and admired the flowers for the longest time.

Everyone knows flowers are brilliant, but who knows their solitude?
