I'm Half-Demon Too

On the frontier of a desolate starfield lies a long-dead star. Its surface is covered with fossilized corpses, their strange shapes unlike any living creature of today.

At its very center stands a figure clad in armor and holding a spear, treading upon heaps of bones, face turned skyward as if roaring at the heavens.

Faint divine thoughts drift through the void: We have guarded the border for countless millennia. When will reinforcements arrive?

A flash of white light, and an old man dressed in hemp cloth appears on the long-dead star.

“There will be no more reinforcements.”

The old man ** makes a circuit of the star and finds a fragment of golden metal engraved with Feilu patterns.

With a flash of light in his hand, a golden chessboard appears. The fragment fits perfectly into one of its corners.

The old man looks at the back of the board, where twenty small characters are carved.

The first generation is the ancestor.

The second generation inherits the legacy.

The third generation is the strongest.

The fourth generation is the end.

The final four characters are carved in blood: The fifth generation is reborn.
