Great Qin: The Epistle from Afang Palace: Brother Zheng, We Have Heirs

The King of Qin sweeps across the six kingdoms, his gaze as fearsome as a tiger!

He abolishes enfeoffment and establishes commanderies and counties; standardizes the width of carts and unifies the written language; pacifies the Hundred Yue and drives back the Xiongnu...

China is united, and the realm is at peace.

The achievements of Great Qin will endure for a thousand autumns.

And yet Great Qin falls after only two generations!

In the twenty-seventh year of the First Emperor's reign, Ying Zheng returns from his tour of Longxi.

Burdened with the daily toil of running the empire, he can already feel his body growing weary. Yet among all his descendants, not one can ease his burden!

His eldest son, Fusu, favors the enfeoffment system and is a hidebound Confucian; Prince Gao is scheming but incapable; Jianglu is brave but lacking in strategy; Huhai is obsessed with pleasure, lazy, and unwilling to study...

He has twenty-three sons, and not one is to his liking!

Such a vast empire, with no worthy successor!

Just then, a sealed bamboo slip emerges from the archives of Zhangtai Palace. It turns out to be a final letter from his beloved A Fang.

From the letter, he learns that twenty-four years ago, A Fang gave birth to his son and hid the child among the common people!

Ying Zheng immediately decides to bring his eldest son back. If the boy proves capable, he will become the Crown Prince of Great Qin!
