Great Tang: I, the Illegitimate Son, Face-Slap Wu Meiniang

Mu Ye's surname is actually Li, though he himself doesn't know it.

In the Yonglong era, after eight years of the Two Sovereigns ruling together, Wu Meiniang could no longer contain her ambition and sought to take the throne for herself.

She sent the Plum Blossom Secret Guards to assassinate Mu Ye. Li Zhi intervened, and Wu Meiniang backed down, ordering Mu Ye to become a monk.

But Mu Ye, who had been a renowned detective in his previous life, wouldn't play along. He angrily tore down the imperial notice and used his identity as the imperial commissioner for the Shenlong case to make the monks stand aside.

Mu Ye figured there had to be a secret behind it all. He turned around and coaxed the monks, saying he could make their temple more popular, and thereby uncover the truth.

He hadn't expected events to accelerate under Wu Meiniang's influence. Before long, he would arrive in Chang'an.

Solving the Shenlong case was undoubtedly a hard slap in Wu Meiniang's face.

But it was far from over. All of Wu Meiniang's plans were thrown into disarray, one step at a time, by Mu Ye's appearance.
