Great Ming: Zhu Yuanzhang, I Really Didn't Want to Be Emperor

In the autumn of the fifth year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang was hunting in the outskirts of the capital when he happened to save a boy who had been struck by lightning.

When he saw the birthmark on the back of the boy's neck, Zhu Yuanzhang was utterly astonished.

"Could this be my son, missing for thirteen years?"

Zhu Yuanzhang: "How about taking the imperial examinations?"

Zhu Sheng: "No way. I was pushed to study in my last life, and it was exhausting. I don't like reading!"

Zhu Yuanzhang: "If the civil examinations aren't for you, how about taking the military examinations?"

Zhu Sheng: "Why do I have to become an official at court? I like the freedom of wandering the martial world."

Zhu Yuanzhang glared, his beard bristling. "You useless brat! Get out of my sight!"

Turning around, he instructed the eunuch, "These jujube cakes turned out well. Take some to Sheng'er. Oh, and remember to send some to Biao'er, too."
