Journey to the West: I Take Over the River God’s Position from the Start

Chen Jing drowned while saving someone, but came into possession of a treasure and transmigrated to the world of Journey to the West, appearing right inside the Jing River Dragon Palace.

As it happened, the Jing River Dragon King had violated the laws of Heaven and been executed, leaving the post of River God of the Jing River vacant!

Chen Jing merged with the Jing River and became its River God.

With a divine register, he was a primordial deity who answered to no Heavenly Court.

The Heavenly Court wanted to recruit him? He refused outright! The Buddhist sect schemed against him? He wanted no part of it!

Fortunately, Chen Jing could still return to the modern world, become its one and only deity, and gather billions of believers!

Using the Jing River as his foundation, Chen Jing gradually took control of rivers and streams, claimed the four seas, and became the Water Emperor!

The Flowing Sand River, Blackwater River, Mother-Child River, Tongtian River: every river under Heaven fell into his hands!

The Buddhist sect wanted to cross a river? They'd have to pay a toll!

Thus goes the saying: Once he attained the Dao, he roamed free, surging up to the highest heavens. He swept through the Heavenly Court and Spirit Mountain, and the Water Official Emperor's fame spread far and wide.
