Going Against the Wilderness

Did gods ever exist in this world? Can anyone truly live forever? And where are the immortals of legend? One tale says that before chaos was divided, a god named Pangu was commanded by the Great Dao to split chaos and create the primordial world with the supreme divine artifact, the Pangu Axe. Another legend says Pangu changed once every day, and only after he used the Chaos Spirit Treasure, the Pangu Axe, to split heaven and earth did this world come into being. So many, many years have passed, and no one knows whether any of this is true.

After creating heaven and earth, Pangu lacked the strength to withstand the Great Dao and had no choice but to transform his body into the world. This realm was named the Primordial World. Legend has it that Pangu continues to exist in this world in a special form. A saying has been passed down in the Primordial World: The Great Dao is compassionate yet impartial, while Heaven's Dao is merciless yet partial.

No one knows how many eras have passed since then. Patriarch Hongjun, the agent of Heaven's Dao, passed down the methods of immortal cultivation and qi refinement from Mount Yujing. From then on, a broad road to the pursuit of immortality opened up. Daoist Hongjun and the Demon Lord Luo Hou Jidu vied to become the agent of Heaven's Dao, using the three primordial clans as pawns in their contest. Ordinary people know little of what happened in between. They only know that one day, Daoist Hongjun suddenly attained sagehood and established the Zixiao Palace in the chaos.
