I Try My Best to Make Terrible Movies, Yet You Call Me the Greatest Director

In a parallel world, Su Chen, who has no artistic talent whatsoever, gets a ranking list of Earth's * movies.

If he makes ten * movies, he'll earn a trillion.

The * Movie Rankings: The lower a film's position, the better its quality.

By sheer coincidence, Su Chen mishears this as meaning that the higher a film ranks, the better it is.

He scrolls to the very bottom and finds a * movie called The Shawshank Redemption, rated half a star. Sure enough, it's an unbeatable * movie!

His school happens to be holding a short-film contest, so, aiming for that trillion, Su Chen submits the short film ranked dead last: The Next Floor.

Sure he's already achieved one-tenth of his modest goal, Su Chen congratulates himself.

But the film takes the internet by storm, and he suddenly becomes an artistic-film master in the eyes of countless people!

Undeterred, Su Chen goes on to make a string of “low-rated” movies, including Crazy Jadeite and The Great Tale of Journey to the West.

They go on to smash box-office and reputation records across the board!

Su Chen is close to tears. “Damn it! Stop calling me a legend of cinema and the ultimate director. I'm really just trying to make * movies!”
