Villain: Empress, I'm Truly a Great Traitor

Bai Ye transmigrated to an ancient parallel world. The old emperor died suddenly, leaving a daughter to inherit the throne.

After years of natural and man-made disasters, Great Zhou was on the verge of collapse.

He awakened the Villain System. As long as he acted as a treacherous minister, made the empress happy, and neglected state affairs, he would receive rewards.

He lived by this code: cater to the emperor's tastes; win over and unite with colleagues; reward subordinates with fame and fortune; undermine and frame his rivals; and think things through for himself.

Bai Ye: I'll dig a canal and squander the treasury, then bring down the country.

Empress: The canal will make trade much easier. Its benefits will last for generations. Truly, you are a worthy minister.

Bai Ye: I'll have the empress light signal fires to summon the feudal lords, then bring down the country.

Empress: Excellent. This will gather the rebellious forces within our borders in the capital, where we can wipe them out in one fell swoop. Truly, you are a worthy minister.

Bai Ye: I'll improve people's livelihoods so the common folk have enough to eat and drink. That way, they'll support me.

Empress: The common folk are living better and better, and there are fewer rebels now. Truly, you are a worthy minister.

Bai Ye: No, look, I'm coming clean. I'm really not a worthy minister! I'm a rebel! I want to be emperor!

Empress: Traitor! How dare you talk back to this empress!
