Dreams Awaken: A Journey to Seek Immortality

We can never remember how our dreams begin. If I could see you again, what would there be to fear, even in the underworld of King Yama...

It all began over a thousand years ago, beneath the city of Jinling, when a purple-flame star fell from the sky. A brilliant, dazzling ring of light stretched straight toward a barren mountain on the outskirts of the city. All through the night, radiant purple light burst from the mountaintop, an unprecedented sight, and only gradually faded at dawn the next day. From then on, every jagged boulder on the mountain took on a strange purple-gold hue. Even among the heaps of rocks where nothing had ever grown, thousands of new shoots sprang up overnight. Hearing of this unusual phenomenon, the people of Jinling flocked there to worship. Astonished by the mountain's purple boulders and overgrown plants, the city lord sent countless men to investigate. But the mountain's terrain was convoluted and treacherous, and the search came to nothing. Convinced it was a sign from Heaven, the city lord dared not take further action. The barren mountain was thereafter named Zijin Mountain, and ordinary people were forbidden from entering for fear of inviting disaster...
