You Sold Me Fake Data? Sorry, I Developed It Myself

At a press conference in the United States, a reporter asks a U.S. defense official:

"Why did we sell information about electromagnetic railguns to our competitor, Longguo?"

"Doesn't that just make them stronger?"

The U.S. defense official laughs and replies:

"Electromagnetic railguns? We just made up that fake information with the help of a science fiction writer."

"Longguo spent so much money buying fake information, and they'll also pour a huge amount of money and effort into researching it."

"Won't that just slow down their development?"

"Hahahaha!"

For a while, Longguo becomes a laughingstock around the world.

The following month, at Longguo's military weapons expo, several domestically developed electromagnetic railguns make their debut, stunning the world.

Ye Yi, head of the research project, smiles at the cameras broadcasting live around the world and says:

"Thanks to our good buddies in the United States for sponsoring the information!"

"Next, our country will begin developing the Sky Shield Project, the South Heaven Gate Project, and the Dragon Palace Project!"
