The Book of a Hundred Ghosts

On the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar year 2007, the living knew nothing of what awaited them after death. A hundred ghosts wailed on Golden Rooster Mountain, while in the Wild Ghost Village, a hundred ghosts wept.

"Heaven is dead, and the Underworld has no ruler! You destroyed my wife and children and ruined my foundation! Today, I will throw the Underworld into chaos!" As Gu Xie spoke, he opened the Book of a Hundred Ghosts. The Underworld's sky, normally black as ink, rang with wave after wave of anguished howls and roars, terrifying beyond words.

Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha looked at the countless ghosts surging from the Book of a Hundred Ghosts and sighed helplessly. "The day has finally come." He then glanced meaningfully toward the Heavenly Court, his eyes betraying confusion and helplessness.

"Where are the Ten Yama Kings?" A voice rang out from Fengdu, rolling like thunder. The sound alone shattered the city's gates. It was said that the Yama Kings had already held the rank of Immortal King when they ascended to immortality. From the looks of it, they had long since reached the rank of Immortal Emperor.

"Your servant is here!"

"Your servant is here!"

"Your servant is here!"

"Your servant is here!"

The Ten Yama Kings answered in unison.
