Great Ming: I Stole the Prince of Bandits' Military Pay from the Start

"You're so young, sir, and clearly a man of promise! How can you be so blind to what's right? The Prince of the Shun dynasty is saving the people from misery! How could you lay hands on his military pay?"

Li Xin gave him a sidelong glance. "Ha! Li Zicheng? A mere bandit and thug, and he dares talk about saving the people from misery? What a joke! So what if I took it? What are you going to do about it?"

"Commander Yuan was an upright man who served the nation..."

"Enough! All I know is that the court must have had good reason to kill him!"

"You're talking nonsense..."

"I'm a man of my word, and we Jinyiwei take our word seriously. If I say his whole family gets killed, then his whole family gets killed! A person must keep his promises. That's the foundation of one's character. Understand?"

"My lord! Cao Huachun, the Director of the Eastern Depot, requests an audience!"

"What?

That old bastard, my father-in-law, still hasn't been killed?"

A Jiu: "Brother Xin! Father seems a little unhappy!"

Li Xin: "It's fine! As the Jinyiwei commander, what does it matter if I kill a few people? Father will get used to it!"

A Jiu said timidly, "...But I heard half the court was gone again at today's audience..."
