The Ghost-Quelling Envoy Has Arrived

After a person dies, their soul leaves the body. Those without lingering obsessions, or whose obsessions are faint, can pass on to bliss. But those with deep-seated obsessions often become vengeful ghosts and wreak havoc on the world.

In 1999, a supernatural incident broke out in a small village in Yuanshan Town. Hundreds of villagers died overnight, all with looks of terror on their faces. The local investigation team got nowhere, so the authorities had no choice but to call in the long-absent Ghost Suppression Bureau to investigate.

In the end, the Bureau paid a terrible price to put the incident to rest, but all records related to it were classified as permanently secret.

Then twenty years passed.

One day, the protagonist, Jiang Ming, woke up at home with a terrible pain in his head. His phone had also mysteriously received over a hundred text messages.

Every message said the same thing: they wanted him to look at the moon outside his window.

The alert Jiang Ming suspected someone was playing a prank and didn't think much of it, until one message made him wary.

"It's here. Don't look up!"
