Great Tang: The Pig Thief Li San Asks If I Want to Be Emperor

The Kaiyuan era was a golden age of prosperity, rich in culture and natural treasures.

The palace gates open wide beneath the ninth heaven, as envoys from every nation bow before the emperor.

Even after Kaiyuan's golden age, in the final years of Tianbao, the Tang Empire remained prosperous.

Yet beneath this golden age, danger lurked.

Emperor Li Longji, once a diligent ruler, had lost his former ambition. He grew weary of governing, lost in wine and dreams...

On the Lantern Festival of the third year of Tianbao,

Chang'an fell into crisis, and the emperor was seized by rebels and forced to flee the palace...

Just then, the young Su Xuan found an old man who had fallen into a pigsty and called himself Li Laosan.

As one danger after another arose,

Li Laosan learned of Su Xuan's origins,

and from then on, he often left the palace to visit him.

Later, Su Xuan also discovered that

the old man who seemed so fond of bragging

was actually the emperor himself,

and the very man who had once slaughtered his entire family!
