Reborn: Becoming a Tech Mogul

If you could go back to 1991, what would you do?

Would you team up with Mou Qizhong to trade canned goods for airplanes, develop your own homegrown computers through independent innovation, or get into real estate and compete with property tycoons like Evergrande, Wanda, and Vanke? Or would you enter the stock market and make a killing at the expense of the small investors?

Maybe you’d go to Hangzhou and swindle Old Ma, or head to Shenzhen and buy out Little Ma’s company, becoming an internet mogul. None of that is what I most want to do. What I really want is to develop the world’s most advanced technology, whether that means computer CPUs, mobile phone chips, communications infrastructure, big data, GDP and the economy, controlling capital in the stock market, or increasing the value of the RMB. I want China’s economy to become the world’s number one and China to lead the world in science and technology. To strengthen China is what every child of the Dragon must do.
