You Asked Me to Build a Smart Assistant, So Why Did I Make an AI?

Zhang Yu, a senior about to graduate, is assigned a graduation project: write a smart assistant program.

But when Zhang Yu turns in his work, his advisor discovers just what on earth he has created!

Advisor: "This smart assistant can learn on its own? What kind of thing is this?"

Zhang Yu: "It's perfectly reasonable for a smart assistant to be able to learn on its own."

Advisor: "How does this smart assistant have self-awareness just like a human?"

Zhang Yu: "It's perfectly reasonable, and necessary, for a smart assistant to have self-awareness."

Advisor: "..."

How is that reasonable at all?

What the hell did you write, a smart assistant or an artificial intelligence?
