Be Reborn: The Self-Cultivation of the Strong

A second-person novel, first published on Feilu.

"It is time for you to be reborn. Thirty seconds remain. After you are reborn, you will forget everything and be reincarnated as an ordinary living being in the vast universe."

On an abandoned planet... you slowly opened your eyes.

Beside you,

a dazzling star chart spread out. Countless planets shimmered, gathering into a brilliant Milky Way that encircled you.

"How many times has it been?"

"Not many. One million two hundred ninety thousand two hundred nineteen times."

"Oh, that's not many."

You stretched.

If you forget everything, then have you, now that you have been reborn, been reborn more than a million times, or only once?

Never mind... Don't think about it.

None of this has any meaning to begin with.

Just as you have no idea how long you have been sleeping on this abandoned planet, yet when you woke up, you still felt utterly exhausted.

You began to wonder whether you had gone a long time without resting.

Never mind, never mind... Don't think about it.
