The Young Wanderer's Journey

Have you not seen the young knights of Huainan, hunting by day and gambling by night? They wager a million without a second thought, and take revenge a thousand miles away as if it were just a few feet. These young knights love to roam. Dressed head to toe in silk and finery, they are followed by orchids and maidens, their every stop filled with music and song. They proudly claim no one can tame them, though they have long been raised in a knight's hall. They give away fine saddles and steeds, then spend five or ten thousand on wine. They give their whole hearts to those who know them, sparing no gold to nurture friendship. How many springs pass as peach and plum trees grow? They blossom, fall, and bloom anew. Magistrates and county officials are all their guests, and princes and lords treat them as equals. A man has only a hundred years, so why not enjoy his fate? Why follow the books and suffer poverty and sickness? A man has only a hundred years, so why not make his life glorious? Why keep to a code and gladly endure the dust of the world? Half the well-dressed are veterans of war, while poor scholars vainly pose as hermits in the woods. However high the roots and branches may grow, they are no match for the bonds made with people today. However closely one's relatives may be connected to the imperial court, that is no better than earning one's own place and honor. Look at the wealthy and powerful right before your eyes. Why worry about a distant reputation after death?

This is a world for the young: a wandering young knight and a prince of the court join hands across the jianghu to forge a legend worthy of their youth!
