Eerie: The Ghost King Turns Out to Be Me

A game called Horror Game descends upon Blue Star. Those chosen must clear all kinds of games to survive, and the most terrifying thing inside them is ghosts.

When Lin Yang enters the Horror Game, he discovers that there are more than a dozen "companions" with him in his very first beginner instance.

What's more, they are incredibly helpful, telling him the locations of every item in the instance. Lin Yang is deeply moved.

As Lin Yang clears one instance after another, though, he notices something strange: why has he never seen a ghost in any of them?

One of Lin Yang's teammates: "Holy crap! I just entered the game and there's a ghost right next to me. This is so intense!"

Another of Lin Yang's teammates: "This is the end! I ran into a ghost, and it actually asked if I wanted to team up. I nearly died of fright!"

Lin Yang: "There isn't a single ghost, and you still dare call this a Horror Game?"
