It All Started on a Dating Show

I have to go on a dating show.

Can I back out? What, the appearance fee is fifty thousand? How much is the penalty? Five hundred thousand?

Zhou Xu wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Honestly, money isn't important. I just want to meet more people."

"Uh... you're a graduate student overseas? What, you're already an HR director at a foreign company? How old are you? Twenty-five... Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt..."

"Oh... you're doing a PhD? Still a student... How old? Twenty-six? What, you work at a medical university and you're already an associate department head? How is that possible? Don't resident doctors need several years of experience? Isn't everyone saying you can't become an associate chief physician before thirty? Don't people say that if you tell someone to study medicine, you'll be struck by lightning..."

"Oh... you're thirty? What, you've already started your own company and raised two rounds of funding..."

Good grief... Could it be that I'm the show's designated eye candy, making up for my lack of talent with my looks...
