The Meaning of the Mountain Mist

On the freezing, snow-covered Mount Hantian, where icy winds howled, Chu Tinglan met Yao Zhi, who was fleeing while poisoned. They both carried the same poison. Much later, Chu Tinglan would think that perhaps fate had destined them to meet.

Yao Zhi had a secret. Though he was loath to go, he still left without a word. He never imagined that what awaited him at home would become the nightmare of his life.

At the sect's challenge tournament, Tinglan stood on the sword-testing platform with a mission from his master. But he had overlooked one thing: he had no sword. A mysterious voice suddenly rang out, and a divine weapon flew in from who knew where. It offered to lend him a sword, leaving everyone deeply moved that such a divine weapon would simply lend itself out! In the end, though, it was a gift!

The mysterious person was Yao Zhi, no longer mysterious at all. It was their second meeting since parting on Mount Hantian. Yao Zhi said, "This time, I won't [redacted]." Tinglan grinned to himself.

The two set out into the world together, sharing a goal: find the person who poisoned them and a way to break the curse.
