Twins from the Start

In the beginning of the primordial void, heaven, earth, sun, and moon had yet to take shape. All was chaos, a murky blend of dark and light. The great god Pangu dwelt within it. After eighteen thousand years, he created the world: the clear yang rose to become the heavens, and the purest qi above formed the immortal realm; the turbid yin sank to become the earth, and the murkiest qi below formed the demon realm. The mortal realm lay between heaven and earth, and thus the Three Realms came into being. Pangu exhausted himself creating the world and died. His body became mountains, rivers, and seas; his eyes became the sun and moon; his beard became the stars; his hair and skin became plants, insects, and beasts; and his heart became Kunlun.

Against this backdrop, our protagonist begins his fantastical journey of cultivating immortality.
