Almost Immortal

From ancient times to the present, humanity has never stopped pursuing immortality.

When the ancients saw powerful people who lived long lives hiding in the mountains, they were astonished and called them immortals. Their stories were passed down through the generations, and the pursuit of immortality and enlightenment became widespread.

As the world changed and science gradually took hold, immortals disappeared while strange beings became increasingly common. Human lifespans also grew dramatically. People began pursuing technological methods of attaining immortality.

When modern science and ancient Taoist teachings collide, which will prevail?

This story begins in a dilapidated Taoist temple deep in the mountains, in this age of technology.
