There were many gentry writers in Shandong during the Tang Dynasty, and their literary creations were very distinctive and had an important influence on the development of literature in the Tang Dynasty. Throughout the Tang Dynasty, Shandong gentry writers made great contributions to the creation of landscape poetry and frontier fortress poetry, and made great contributions to the formation of rhythmic poetry. Taking the first year of Jianzhong of Dezong of the Tang Dynasty (780) as the dividing point, we found that the Shandong gentry in the Tang Dynasty fully revived from the middle Tang Dynasty and had an important impact on the literature of the middle and late Tang Dynasty. The Shandong gentry in the Tang Dynasty had a profound influence on literary trends such as the Classical Prose Movement of the Mid-Tang Dynasty, the Han and Meng Poetry Schools, the New Yuefu Movement, and legendary novels.
