In 1982, the collision between the two old enemies, Syria and Israel, on the land of the third country, Lebanon, finally inevitably began. On June 9, the Israeli Air Force attacked and destroyed the Syrian anti-aircraft missile positions in the Bekaa Valley, and launched a fierce air battle with the Syrian Air Force that followed.
