About This Novel
Everyone who migrates and leaves has an unspeakable past. The novel tells the first half of a father's life and the boyhood of a son. My father was born into a family of bamboo craftsmen. He learned the art from his ancestors when he was young, and then grew up and fell in love. After that, he moved to a distant town in the south of the Yangtze River and started his life again. Later, he experienced the death of a relative and was heartbroken. After "I" was born, I went through the transition from elementary school to college. As a migrant, I experienced pain, friendship and love. The novel narrates the story between three generations of grandfather and son, undoubtedly trying to express the world, which contains not only the soft maternal love, but also the deep father's love, which is equally awe-inspiring.
