In the late 1990s, when some Chinese people began to try self-guided travel, Tiedan Dad and Tiedan Mom were already traveling with their dogs. Although traveling with dogs was not something they planned in advance in their lives, it was inevitable. Neither of them likes to follow the crowd and is even a bit independent. They started backpacking in 1991. The couple, who love small animals, naturally started traveling with dogs after they got their first dog, Black Lion, in 1998. The protagonist of this book, Tiedan, is their second dog and has traveled with his owner to more than two-thirds of China's administrative regions. He grew up happily during the trip, and also brought the owner happiness and many insights that he still remembers today.
