About This Novel
I have absolutely no intention of joining the bandwagon of pop music fans who carelessly or hypocritically hum the tawdry and cheesy song of the same name that was originally sung by Gan Ping and is now well-known. I am thousands of miles away, full of affection, extending my heartfelt greetings to my half-brother... I have never been to my hometown. The place where I was born and the city where I live now are far away from the place I call my hometown. I only know that my hometown is in a small place called Tianzhen in Hubei, where the folk customs are fierce and the water network is crisscrossed... The whole meaning of my hometown to me is that the father who gave me birth and raised me came from there; the whole value of my hometown to me seems to be to answer the blank under the word "native place" on those endless forms. Now, the first order was given, so I prepared to take a trip to my hometown while on a business trip.
