About This Novel
Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Watanabe and Kaoru Momoi star in the original novel of the Oscar-winning film "Memoirs of a Geisha". It tells the story: From the orphan girl Chiyo to the famous geisha Sayuri in Kyoto, her fate is like falling flowers floating on the gurgling water, and the future direction can never be predicted. People live in different eras. Facing the general trend of the times, they are all confused and what they can do is limited. We cannot choose the era. If we do not live up to it, we must see its suffering. Xiao Chiyo has been living hard all his life. Sometimes he bows to life, just like the beginning of the story; sometimes he reaches out for opportunities. Mameye is her bole and benefactor, rescuing her from her boring life. She encountered many things in her life, including being bought and sold, being separated from her sister Sazu, never seeing her again until she was old, having her "water poplar" taken away by a weird crab doctor, being forced to use a general as a danna, being destined to be a noble person, Yeon Junwa, and the love of her life, the president. When I read to the end, I hated her and failed Yan's strong love for her, but she just wanted her hope in life not to be shattered, so I felt relieved. Pursue what you love and live with a purpose, and life will not always give you the worst. She finally got her wish, and the president became her Danna, until the president walked towards heaven with a smile. I think her life was fulfilling and her own hopes were fulfilled.
