About This Novel
In the fourth year of Emperor Dezong's reign in the Tang Dynasty, there was an undercurrent surging under the calm appearance of the capital. Wei Shaozi, a prodigal son, was inadvertently involved in a conspiracy. With the help of the local girl Duguying, he gradually learned about the changes in Tubo, Uighur and other forces, as well as the struggle between the feudal town and the court. He was forced to fluctuate with the times, but he found that everything in front of him was inextricably linked to his deceased father. After fleeing from the capital to Jingyuan, he experienced the Jingyuan mutiny. The rebels led by Zhu Si seized Chang'an, and the Tang Dynasty was in danger. Witnessing the difficult times, he resolutely chose to seek refuge with Duan Xiushi, an important official in the imperial court, hoping to reverse the situation with his own meager efforts.
