About This Novel
Western film star Buck Horn plans to return to the silver screen but doesn't want to be shot dead while performing horseback stunts at the Oval Arena. The New York City Police Department mobilized its entire force and conducted an unprecedented search, but to no avail. A month later, in the same place and the same scene, the God of Death repeated his same tricks again, replicating another murder case. The two cases were shrouded in mystery: under the attention of 20,000 viewers, no murder weapon, no murderer, no motive could be found...

Is it too expensive?
Logic, what a great word, every time I see the chapter where Ellery Quinn challenges readers, I will rack my brains and use my very limited knowledge and overwhelming analytical power to try to solve the puzzle. I had doubts about Horne's daughter whom he loved very much, and I had doubts about Grant, his old friend who had been friends with him for many years. I had doubts about everyone, but I didn't expect that the one who died was not Horne himself. Ellery Quinn relied on his subtle observation skills and used a clue that was clearly described in the article and made public - a gun belt that Horne always wore, and judged that it was not Horne who died. When it was speculated that it was not Horn who died, combined with his profession, his reputation, his abilities, and his beloved horse, everything suddenly became clear, and all the derivation of the puzzle gave a clear line of thought, which made people marvel at the power of the God of Detectives.
