Kowtow to Extend Life
About This Novel
My mother-in-law was famously afraid of death in the village, but she was terminally ill. For this reason, she went out early in the morning and came back late every day to pray to gods and worship Buddha, burn talisman paper to pray to gods, and did everything she could. My husband and I wanted to comfort my mother-in-law and let nature take its course, but we didn't want her to be getting healthier day by day, while I felt like I couldn't sleep and couldn't get up any energy every day. When I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I heard my mother-in-law's voice coming from the balcony. When I looked closer, my mother-in-law was kneeling on the ground and kowtowing crazily towards my photo! Later I learned that this is called kowtow to extend life!
