About This Novel
Darien Negliver read a poem and was struck by her resonance with it. It stayed with her when she woke from dreams, when she was caught up in household chores, when she was pregnant, when she gave birth, when she felt herself dissolving. She wanted to know more about the life of the poem's author, Eileen Niconnell. In the literature, there are only a few words about Irene's life: someone's wife, someone's aunt. A great female poet is recorded only as an accessory to men. She wants to take back the narrative rights that belong to Irene. In between parenting and housework, she began to search, question and write. Echoes followed, her words and Erin's voice intertwining into a new poetry.
