About This Novel
I often think of this woman, and how she stood on the window sill on the fourth floor looking out at the wilderness, focused and persistent. There were busy men, busy women, and running children in the field. She would often stand like this for a long time, and then turn to the empty room and say, "It's the season of sowing again. It's a pity for me, it's a pity..." This is a woman who can be associated with many stories. This is another extremely ordinary woman. Her life is full of ups and downs, just like an ordinary woman in that ordinary era.
