There is a God in the Garbage Dump
by Xulu
About This Novel
K-7 is the only survivor of the "Xinghai Memory" implantation experiment and an officially certified failure, abandoned in a giant garbage dump in the future city. He wakes up here with no memory except an old homeless man named "Old Scar" who treats him as a human being. The calm was quickly broken. The silent alien civilization data in K-7's mind began to awaken uncontrollably, like a burning spiritual reactor. Its overflowing chaotic energy causes great pain to himself, and what is even more fatal is that it will indiscriminately burn all nearby electronic nerves - which is equivalent to issuing a death sentence to future people who rely on brains and intelligent bodies. The first victim will be the old scar who has no protection and will accompany him day and night. In order to avoid becoming the source of disaster that massacres his relatives and friends, K-7 must find a way to "close" or "format" the star sea in his mind before he goes completely crazy and kills everyone. The only purpose of this journey is to find the switch that can make him "disappear". He teamed up with Lao Scar to survive in the gap between wasteland and high technology, pursuing clues to the possible "final agreement". In the end, K-7 may have succeeded in averting the disaster, but at the cost of performing a complete "personality formatting." All memories of his existence as K-7 and Scar, along with those alien whispers, were erased. He quieted down and turned back into a harmless shell. Cleanup crews destroyed him. There is no glory of saving the world, no sacrifice to be remembered. He prevented a disaster, but all traces of himself as a human being were also annihilated, leaving no meaning behind.
