The rebels "The Returned" tried to destroy the agreement at the cost of their lives, but revealed a more cruel truth: the soul hunting never stopped, it just hid deeper. When the reverberations of the data mausoleum devour reason, and when the street graffiti "data abscess" becomes the gunshot of resistance, Cord must face the cold rules of the mechanical flesh-and-blood city: here, the boundaries between reality and virtuality have long been blurred, and the hunters who hunt souls may be the ghosts most eager to be saved.
