About This Novel
"Ice Chronicles" is a collection of Xiao He's selected works, including a total of 15 of his works. The short story of the same name tells the story of how nuclear radiation caused the surface temperature to plummet, freezing three thousand meters below the sea surface, and a few humans moved to the ice to survive. "The Soul Builder in Clay Town" tells the story of the robot Steve Doyle who creates mediocre souls based on the data instructions he receives every day. At the end of his life, he disobeyed his instructions and secretly created a very rebellious soul. A new baby was born, and the fate of mankind may have changed. "Empire Mars" tells the story of "I" who was desperate for life and committed suicide many times, and was eventually sent to Mars, where "I" lived in harmony with robots, built the city together, and regained the passion for life. The "Skylight of the Earth", "Plateau Canyon" and "No Country for Old Men" show the author's worries about reality: the greenhouse effect, rising sea levels and the problem of elderly people who have lost their only child.
