About This Novel
The novel is based on the feudal family of Beiyang warlord Jin Quan, Prime Minister, and takes the marriage between Jin Quan's son Jin Yanxi and the commoner woman Leng Qingqiu from love, marriage to estrangement and divorce as the main line. It reveals the empty, degenerate spiritual world and declining and decadent life of the feudal bureaucrats and their wives and children, and describes a living history of the rise and fall of the wealthy aristocrats.
