About This Novel

In 1944, twelve-year-old Stasha and her sister Pearl were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp and became Mengele's experimental subjects. The two people, who have different personalities but are close to each other, were harmed by various inhuman experiments. Stasha gradually became surly, while Pearl became increasingly depressed. When winter arrived, Mengele planned a noisy concert in the park, and the pearl disappeared completely. The shocked Stasha instantly lost her will to live, but continued to convince herself that her sister was still alive. Soon, the Soviets arrived like a surging tide, and the people in the concentration camp broke up and fled. Stasha and her companions, bent on revenge, went through many obstacles and finally set foot on the ruins of Warsaw. Under the devastated sky, what awaits the young survivors is an extremely difficult reconstruction and imagination of the world. In the chaos, the most familiar voice in Stasha's heart was still calling her...
